CrookBack Clinic
- introduction seminar -
Thursday 4th February
Education Development Centre
Milner St Hindmarsh
9am - 12pm
THE PROGRAM
The CrookBack Clinic was developed at the Fit and
Healthy fitness centre in Canberra and is now conducted
in corporate organisations around Australia.
What the program does is give fitness centres, fitness
centre staff and personal trainers the potential to act
as first places of call for people with musculo-skeletal
dysfunction.
Musculo-skeletal pain is rarely a medical condition.
It's a fitness-related condition that's usually caused
by weak and tight muscles allowing the body to move out
of alignment. The pain comes from the pressure that this
misalignment puts on muscles, tendons, ligaments and
disks.
Here's the link to the CrookBack
website where you can find more information about
it.
I'm conducting this introductory seminar to introduce
fitness practitioners, personal trainers and members of
the hands-on therapeutic professions to the concept.
Topics will include:
|
• |
Principles of
musculo-skeletal dysfunction. |
|
|
|
|
• |
Major causes of
back, neck and shoulder pain. |
|
|
|
|
• |
Ways to assess
the cause of the problem. (It's rarely at the
site of the pain.) |
|
|
|
|
• |
Exercises to get
the body back into alignment. |
|
|
|
|
• |
The pre-eminent
role of the fitness profession in preventing and
treating musculo-skeletal dysfunction |
THE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY
I'll outline the business opportunity of becoming a
registered CrookBack Practitioner.
When 50% of people have some sort of persistent
musculo-skeletal pain it's a pretty good business
opportunity. You can gauge the potential of the program
by reading the
musculo-skeletal health report.
The opportunity is there to conduct one-on-one
consultations and classes.
THE CROOKBACK NETWORK
The seminar will provide you with
information you can start using immediately with your
clients.
But it goes further than that.
There is an opportunity for you to become a registered CrookBack practitioner and
a member of the CrookBack Network.
At the end of a process that's neither
exhaustive nor expensive, you'll be able to hang out the CrookBack
shingle. This will give members of the community
confidence that you are qualified to
diagnose the likely
cause of the common, personally-generated
musculo-skeletal dysfunctions and
prescribe exercises
that are designed to restore poor function to good.
You'll be encouraged to work with other
therapists whose modalities speed up the rehab process.
You'll be able to:
|
• |
use the CrookBack logo to advertise your
services |
 |
|
|
|
|
• |
provide individuals with a
one-on-one consultation, for fees
similar to those charged by physios and chiros.
It's a good earner. |
|
|
|
|
|
• |
place the people who see you
individually into a class where they can get
your on-going attention and supervision. |
|
|
|
|
• |
run group classes, (the CrookBack
Clinic), for your existing clients and fitness
club members. |
You'll attract a whole new clientele.
All in all it's a value-added service for
fitness professionals.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
The seminar will be last for three hours.

so come casually dressed.
